European Science Editing (ISSN 0258-3127) is a peer-reviewed academic journal and the official journal of the European Association of Science Editors. It is edited by a committee of editors who are members of the association.
As well as containing articles on topics related to editing, the journal reports on relevant meetings, announces news and forthcoming events, reviews books, software and online resources, and highlights publications of interest to science editors and those in related professions.
First published in 1986, the journal was published three times yearly until 2001, when publication moved to a quarterly schedule, with issues in February, May, August and November.
From 6 months after publication, the online journal issues become open access. The "Editor's Bookshelf" section, listing articles and books of relevance for science editors, is also published on dedicated pages of the association's website.
The journal contains editorials, original articles, review papers, viewpoints, a series on "Editing around the world", correspondence, meeting reports, a digest of discussion threads from the "EASE-Forum" (the association’s email discussion list), book reviews, website reviews, news, and announcements of meetings, conferences, seminars and courses.
Work in progress to be published in the Editor's Bookshelf and News Notes sections of European Science Editing is published online in the journal's blog.
